David F. Daniell received his BS degree in 1976 from the University of North Alabama, graduating from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in 1979. Upon admission to the Alabama Bar in 1979, he practiced in Huntsville, Alabama until relocating to the Gulf Coast in 1981. He is admitted to practice in all Alabama Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Civil Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Since 1981, David has maintained an active practice in the areas of Personal Injury Law, Insurance law, Products liability law, Construction Law, and Condominium Law. His present practice is focused on condominium, real estate development, and construction law. He has substantial experience in the unique areas of coastal construction, building code compliance, coastal storm impact issues, as well as commercial and condominium development.
David serves as counsel for the USS Alabama Battleship Commission, operator of the USS Alabama Memorial Park, Alabama's second largest tourist attraction. He is a Director of the USS Alabama Battleship Foundation, dedicated to the preservation of the USS Alabama, one of the most decorated American warships of World War II.
David is listed in Who's Who in American Law, and is a contributing author for legal publications and condominium trade journals. He has spoken on construction and condominium law topics. He is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has served as a faculty member of the Board of Examiners of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and selected for inclusion in the 2008 through 2023 editions of Alabama Super Lawyers Magazine, as well as the 2016-2023 editions of Mid South Super Lawyers Magazine.
David has received a peer review rating of “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards. He is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, and a Fellow of the Alabama Bar Foundation.
David was instrumental in the founding of the Baldwin County Bar Foundation, and a past President of the Baldwin County Bar Association. He is a member of the Point Clear Rotary Club, the International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians, and the Fairhope Yacht Club.
