Jonathon R. Law, a Mobile Alabama native, is an accomplished attorney specializing in construction litigation, condominium law, products liability, and insurance litigation. He graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School and went on to earn his B.S. in Psychology from Auburn University. While at Auburn, Jonathon played a key role as a trainer at the Institute for Biological Detection Systems, training government issued German Shepherds for bomb detection for the United States Army.
Jonathon earned his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, where he was a standout student and leader. He served as a member of the Henry Upson Simms Moot Court Board, the National Trial Team, and was the President of the Cumberland Community Service Organization. Additionally, he was a Judge Abrahams Caruthers Fellow Teaching Assistant and served as the Articles’ Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
Joining Daniell, Upton, Anderson, Law & Busby, P.C. in 2004, Johnathon has made significant contributions to the firm’s Alabama litigation practice. He became a shareholder in January 2010 and has built a strong reputation in his areas of expertise. He is admitted to practice in all Alabama State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Alabama. In 2024, Jonathon achieved the distinction of being admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
With decades of experience, Jonathon has successfully litigated complex matters involving products liability, class action, multi-district litigation, and insurance claims. He has obtained numerous multi-million-dollar settlements and jury verdicts, especially in the fields of construction law, products liability and insurance claims. Notably, Jonathon has played a significant role in obtaining favorable settlements for homeowner plaintiffs involved in defective Chinese drywall cases and in resolving claims for victims of catastrophic storms, including Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Sally, and the April 2011 tornado outbreak in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Over the last two decades, he has been directly involved in the resolution of over $160 million in insurance claims stemming from these devastating events.
Jonathon has been recognized for his legal excellence and ethical standards, receiving a peer review rating of “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating. He was also nominated for inclusion in the 2014-2015 edition of Alabama Super Lawyers magazine. He is an active member of the American, Alabama, and Baldwin County Bar Associations, the Alabama Association for Justice, and the Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program.
